A Bit About Linda:
While in Elementary School, Linda enjoyed making her classmates laugh. Her talent landed her a spot along the front row of Detention. Undeterred, Linda filled the time by drawing. Linda's drawings caught the attention of the Monitor and the two became friends.

Middle School changed Linda's view about education thanks to four outstanding teachers: Mr. Mauerhan, (Geography), Mr. Marshall, (US History), Mrs. Reynolds, (English) and Mr. Fox, (ART). Each teacher asked Linda to create large works of art focused on the curriculum and to display her art in their classrooms. Mr. Fox encouraged Linda to enter her art in city wide contests. By the age 12, Linda had a few awards under her belt.

While attending high school at the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Maryland, Linda's parents enrolled her as a part-time student at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Drawn to works by the Masters, she focused her discipline in fine art.

After graduating from high school, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Scott. They lived in the surrounding rural area of Annapolis. As their family grew, so did their small business. Their collection of handmade wooden toys and small pieces of furniture caught the attention of several local builders and soon, they received commissions to design and build custom furniture and cabinets.

In 1989, the Swingles moved West to plant roots in Southern California. Within four months, Linda set out to establish herself as a mural artist. Her handy-work appeared on the front cover of the San Diego Home & Garden Magazine.

The honorary publicity opened new doors as Linda received commissions from world-renowned clientele painting murals and creating hand-made wall-coverings for the private and commercial sectors.

Today, Linda enjoys writing and illustrating picture books for children. With people to meet, places to see, and lots of books to write, Linda likes sharing funny stories, telling jokes, and making people laugh.
